Dear Friends,
Wendy shared with us last week her experiences on holiday with family. With the schools all closed many, many more people will be packing to go away or planning days out at home.
As we travel, God is with us, the Father who created us full of potential and watches over us as we seek times of refreshment for our bodies, minds and spirits.
In our time of being refreshed may we give thanks and pray for all who make it possible. Those who will be working to ensure we are able to have the holiday we have planned and been dreaming of for weeks or months. John and I were reminded of this in a Church in Nantes many years ago, where some of the following were listed. Fill out the list to your own circumstances.
All who work in the holiday and hospitality industry; Those who work in Hotels, Restaurants, Cafes, Clean cottages, providing havens in which we can ‘be’ relaxed.
All who work in the transport industry, all at our stations, airports, garages. The AA or RAC men as they attend those broken down.
On Sunday we hear how the disciples ask Jesus, “teach us to pray”. He answered with the prayer we use daily. As we pray the lord’s prayer each day may we be more aware that God wants all to wake up each morning and ask that the kingdom may come, that we may have our daily needs provided, both physical and spiritual; that we may have our sins forgiven and be guided safely through temptation. In that way we shall be actively seeking the God who made us and loves us, and has ready all the gifts we need to bear fruit.
Happy holiday, with my Love In Christ,
Daphne
