Dear Friends,

Our BBQ last Sunday was truly a celebration of food, fun and fellowship. We shared our gifts of creativity that come from our being born in the likeness and image of God our Creator. It was also an opportunity to celebrate all who contribute to the life of worship and witness at St. Nicolas Church. However, while many are active, week by week and some day by day, our Gospel this weekend reminds us to pray, that our Lord invites and sends more labourers that his kingdom continues to grow and flourish.

Paul’s words to the Galatians encourages all who worship and serve Him faithfully. Paul writes, ” let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”

As we continue to be “Open to God, Open to one another and Open to the community”, I offer the following prayer to support and strengthen our commitment in our journey of faith.

Creator God, whose Son spoke in story and metaphor
and whose Spirit guards and guides us,
help us to know in our hearts
that you have created us in your image to be creative.
May we become like little children:
playful as we learn,
open to the wonders of creation
and trusting in your love.
And may your creativity flow through us to enable us
and those whose lives we touch
to grow in faith, hope and love. Amen

In Christ,
Daphne
